Day 5 in Bogotá
I got up at 10:00, and we headed to the Santa Fe clinic at 10:30. Ten minutes after we arrived, we got a call asking us to head back to Colsanitas, as they were having problems. We realized that some things had gone wrong while putting the old version back in production, so we requested that we were given some time during the night to fix the problem. We did that in record time, and I even managed to find the step in which that dreadful database migration script was failing. We then proceeded to migrate the whole thing to the latest version, this time following my advice and using the documentation. Everything went just fine, but we found a problem later: the reports that doctors produce weren't showing. We worked on that for more than three hours, but we could not find the cause of the problem. I then called a colleague in Belgium, who told me that we had to install another software, which we didn't have.
Around 4:00 AM, I took control of the server, and once again we backed up to the previous version. We finished at 6:20, but everything was working fine, and it was even better than before. I arrived back to the hotel at 6:30, had breakfast and went to bed. :-)
The good part of the day was that we went to a mall and I had paella for lunch/dinner (it was my only meal of the day, at 5:45PM). Paella was great, and it cost only $8. Food is good and cheap here.
