A smile a day - #01

My beautiful niece Valeria mentioned this video –which I’ve known for a while- as her new ‘immediate happiness generator’, and that reminded me of an old project of posting a heart-warming video everyday, so we can start the day with a smile. What better than this?

It’s a classic from Sesame Street, of course, and it goes all the way to 1973. Here we see Kermit trying to get the beautiful Joey to sing the Alphabet song, but she has other plans in mind. Frustrated, Kermit exits to the left, but he’s forced to come back due to an overwhelming moment of cuteness.

All I could find out about the girl is that her full name was Joey Calva and that she was featured in the show until she was 10, because she looked much younger than she really was. Anybody knows anything else about her? She must be my age now! :-)

 

 

Mi hermosa sobrina Valeria mencionó este video –que yo ya conocía– como su nuevo ‘generador de felicidad inmediata’, y eso me recordó mi viejo proyecto de postear un video de esos que te calientan el corazón todos los días, como para empezar el día con una sonrisa. Qué mejor que este?

Es un clásico de Plaza Sésamo, por supuesto, y data de 1973. Vemos a Kermit (también conocido como René) tratando de cantar la canción del alfabeto con la preciosa Joey, pero ella tiene otros planes. Frustrado, Kermit se retira de la pantalla, pero es obligado a volver debido a un increíble momento de ternura.

Todo lo que pude hallar sobre la niña es que su nombre completo es Joey Calva y que trabajó en el show hasta los 10 años, porque siempre pareció más joven de lo que era. Alguien sabe algo más sobre ella? Debe tener mi edad! :-)
