My daughter came back from school looking worried, which prompted Gaby to ask her what was going on. She showed her the inside of her lunch box, completely empty, and said to her, her voice showing the seriousness of this issue:
- See? I have nothing. Before, you would put me snacks, the lunch and a fruit and I would always bring something back, and you would nag me. See now? I have nothing left and I’m still hungry.
- So?
- Don’t you see? I’m eating a lot!!! I think I’m going through a ‘growth spurt’ .
The fact that she loves to wear those pants that cover only half of her leg probably adds logic to her theory… :-)
Mi hija volvió de la escuela bien preocupada, por lo que Gaby le preguntó qué le pasaba. Ella le mostró el interior de su valijita para el almuerzo, completamente vacía, y le dijo, con cara de circunstancia:
- Ves? No tengo nada. Vos antes me ponías snacks, la comida y una fruta, y yo siempre traía algo de vuelta y vos me retabas. Ves ahora? No traigo nada y todavía tengo hambre.
- Y?
- Y no ves? Estoy comiendo mucho!!! Me parece que estoy teniendo un ‘growth spurt’ (un ‘estirón’).
El hecho de que le gusta usar esos pantalones que le quedan por la mitad de la pantorrilla no hace más que darle la razón… :-)

Do you mean capri pants? Those are the best. They'll fit her for a lot longer than regular pants. Don't complain. It's less clothes Dad needs to buy for her. :P
