We were coming back from an away game Carolina had played, and since the highway was very busy, I decided to take the back roads instead.

 

Caro has been playing soccer since she was five, but it wasn’t until last year that she started to show genuine interest in the sport, especially since she joined her current team, the Phoenix. I thought she was in it mostly for the social aspect, and they do enjoy the get-togethers, so that’s partly right. But she now seems to enjoy her time on the pitch as well. But that doesn’t mean that she will sit down and watch games on TV with me or know how the Brazilian National Team jersey looks like!

 

The same applies to the flags, apparently, because that day we saw a car going in the opposite direction that had a Portuguese flag and Carolina wanted to express her support:

 

- Yay!!! Go México!!!

Volvíamos de un partido que había jugado Caro en otra ciudad, y como la autopista estaba con mucho tránsito, decidí tomar un camino secundario.

 

Caro ha estado jugando al fútbol desde los cinco años pero no fue hasta la temporada pasada que mostró un interés genuino en el deporte, especialmente desde que se unió a su equipo actual, Waterloo Phoenix. Yo pensaba que estaba en él más que nada por el aspecto social, y bien que disfrutan de sus reuniones, así que en parte es cierto. Pero ahora parece que también disfruta de su tiempo adentro de la cancha. Eso no quiere decir, sin embargo, que se siente conmigo a mirar partidos en la tele o que sepa de qué color es la camiseta de la selección de Brasil!

 

Lo mismo pasa con las banderas, aparentemente, porque ese día vimos un auto en la dirección opuesta que tenía una bandera de Portugal, y Carolina decidió hacer público su apoyo:

 

- Sí!!! Dale México!!!
