One of the places we chose to play this game, however, was not ideal: the Denny’s restaurant where we had lunch yesterday, on our way here. Me and Gaby had just lost when it was time to order, so we could tell the waiter what we all wanted to eat. But the problem was when he came back with the food.
With Juan, Caro and Flor out of the competition, it was up to me, Gaby and Santi. The waiter started serving our sandwiches and the three of us had to figure out what to do! I went first, and just said “uh-huh”, nodding in appreciation. Then it was Gaby’s turn, and she said:
- Merci beaucoup
Santi immediately followed with “Gracias”. The waiter gave us a puzzled look, but carried on immediately. Still, Gaby felt she needed to explain why we were acting so silly, so she did tell the waiter.
- We’re playing a game…
And she said it in English, hence losing immediately!!! :-) We’re still laughing…
Uno de los juegos tontos que hemos estado jugando incluye el de no hablar en inglés. Siendo esa una de las reglas que siempre tratamos de imponer a los chicos, se imaginan que queremos mucho a ese juego!
Uno de los lugares elegidos para jugarlo, sin embargo, no fue el ideal: un restaurante Denny’s en el que almorzamos ayer, camino a este lugar. Gaby y yo justo habíamos perdido cuando fue el momento de pedir la comida, así que no hubo problemas. El asunto fue cuando el mozo volvió con la comida.
Juan, Caro y Flor ya habían perdido, así que sólo quedábamos Gaby, Santi y yo. El mozo comenzó a servir los sandwiches y los tres tuvimos que buscar la forma de agradecer sin hablar en inglés! A mi me tocó primero, así que dije “uh-huh”, y asentí en silencio. Cuando le tocó a Gaby, ella respondió:
- Merci beaucoup
Santi la siguió con un “Gracias”. El mozo nos miró extrañado, pero continuó su trabajo. De todos modos a Gaby le pareció que tenía que explicar lo que estaba pasando, así que lo hizo.
- Estamos jugando un juego…
Y lo dijo en inglés, por lo que perdió inmediatamente!!! :-) Todavía nos estamos riendo…

Esta bueno! Nosotros hacemos parecido pero adaptado a la edad de mis chicos: 6 años uno, y 3 años y medio la otra. El tercero tiene sólo 1 mes, así que no juega, jaja).
ReplyDeleteCon frases simples o incluso palabras sueltas les hacemos decirlas en francés o inglés.
Y pasan cosas como éste: la nena (repito, 3 añitos y medio) hace un par de meses ante una pregunta de la maestra en el jardin de infantes se despachó con un "Je ne sais pas!"
