Sam Tsui is a Yale student; he’s a singer, and through the magic of video editing, a vocal group too. With the help of his friend Kurt Schneider (the guy standing on the far left), he created the following medley as a tribute to Michael Jackson. I would not call this ‘opportunistic’ because I understand it was done a month before MJ’s death, but even if it was… it’s one of the most impressive videos I’ve seen in a while…
On a side note, Tsui reminds me of a colleague from Colombia. I kept watching and watching the video wondering “who is it that he looks like?” until it finally hit me! :-)
Going back to the video, and the music… I said it before in that sort of obituary I published back in June. Jackson was, in my opinion, a musical genius, probably the most influential musician since the Beatles, or along with them. This video by Sam Tsui is every bit as amazing as Jackson’s talent was. I stand corrected, there’s still a lot of new, creative stuff for us to find on the internet.
Wow that was one AMAZING video!!!
ReplyDeleteMichael was a troubled man, but there's no doubt in my mind that he was talented. What a great video! That's probably one of the best MJ medleys I've ever heard.
ReplyDeleteWow that was really good. Wonder what editing program they used to get all those versions of him on the stage at the same time?
ReplyDeleteThis guy is brilliant. I saw other videos of him shot in the same way, and even a live presentation on TV (on the Bonnie Hunt show)...
ReplyDeleteUna maravisha!!
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything nice to say about the guy, but that was an interesting video. Thanks.
