The winners for this week are coming from the Community Breakfast in Uptown Waterloo. This is part of the inaugural ceremonies for the 40th K-W Oktoberfest. I don't know if it was because of the beautiful weather, or the new location or maybe because of the 40th anniversary, but the truth is that I had never seen so many people before!
I hope you like the pictures. Gemütlichkeit! :-)

As I said, lots of people in there. Do you see the smoke in the back? That's the beginning of the line!
There was no way I could get Flor to pose with Onkel Hans! She was absolutely terrified... :-)
Estaba aterrorizada... :-)
Barrel rolling races! And they were full! :-)
Carreras de barriles! Y estaban llenos! :-)
Some were really good at this (my neighbour Mark is wearing the black jacket)
Some were a little 'too' competitive...
Algunos terminaron siendo un poquito 'demasiado' competitivos...
After about 20 minutes, we finally got to the place where they were serving breakfast
Most of the servers were local celebrities (like the guys from AM570 News here)

That was my serving: three pancakes, four sausages.

What I find funny is that we had that same mascot-guy at our social gathering at school last week, only he had a different outfit on and represented Figaro's Pizza. Looks like you all had fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! These were great! It really was an insight into your world!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun. I love festivals like that. The barrel rolling looks like it would be a lot of fun to watch.

ReplyDeleteThat looks like So. Much. Fun. I can't believe how long that line was though.
ReplyDeleteAwesome weather for Oktoberfest this year, Gabriel. Glad you and the family enjoyed it... great pix!
ReplyDeleteThe sausage thingy lost its theme. Sorry, pops.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I can hardly blame Flor for being frightened of Onkle Hans. I have lived here most of my life and he still scares me! Jessie wants to check out the parade..It is only steps away from my front door, but I am still not convinced that I want to watch. We'll see if the nice weather holds up, I might take the doggies to watch :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for advertising in my site. You have very funny pictures here, you totally captured the event. Thanks for sharing!
