I've been busy, so pardon me for not updating this blog since Sunday night...
We went to soccer practice on Sunday night and I was forced to leave the kids in the car, because guess what... it rained! :-(
I got pretty soaked, but still decided to carry on with our plans and go out with the kids. It was obvious, however, that going to the drive-in movies wasn't a good idea, so we decided to go bowling instead. We purchased a Family pack that allowed us to play for 2 full hours and get a pitcher of coke and a pizza. The kids had a blast, and I had my best games ever. I had 127 on the first one, 118 on the second, and had 102 and a spare on my seventh shot of the third game, so I was going to have at least a 150, but we ran out of time. Taking the first two games into consideration, I won with 245, Santi came in second with 213, then Juan with 199, Carolina with 151 and finally Florencia with 131. The third game was looking very interesting, though, as Florencia was just one point behind Santi in third place...
My camera had no batteries, so I had to take pictures with my cellphone...
We came back home and I made sure that the kids ate fruit for dessert (I believe they had some snacks afterwards). We watched a few movies and then I dispatched everybody to bed. It was around 1:00 AM and I needed to get up early the following morning (which I did...kinda).
Juan was already up by the time I left (he had been up since before 7:00 AM and was watching TV downstairs). Santi woke up at around 10:00 and the girls slept until almost noon. I had a lunch at work, so I instructed Santi to make sure that everybody had a good breakfast so they could wait for me to come back. By the time I did, at around 1:30 PM, Santi had just left, invited to the pool by a friend. I made brunch to the kids (with scrambled eggs and everything) and made sure they ate fruit again, which caused that now I have to go to the supermarket again.
We stayed home in the afternoon because I had work to do; then we left at 5:45 to go to Bechtel Park, because my team had a soccer game (they played horribly and got a lousy 1-1 tie against Kitchener, which means we're almost relegated, which would be for the first time ever). Carolina went fully dressed just in case, as her team was playing too, but she wasn't needed.
Once we came back home, I cooked gnocchi with tomato sauce and butter for the kids, and since we didn't have any more fruits, I allowed them to have an ice cream for dessert. I was very tired already, so after about 30 minutes of TV, I told them that they could finish watching the movie in my bedroom, so I could go to sleep (we were using my laptop as a DVD player).
I put my laptop on my belly (shouldn't it be called 'belly-top' then?) and the kids laid in bed by my side (except Santi who went to sleep). I fell asleep and the kids woke me up to ask me to put the movie ("Open Season") on pause so they could continue watching it tonight.
I got up and came to work before 8:00 AM and nobody was awake yet, as I expected. In fact, it's 11:55 AM by the time I write this and Juan and Carolina are still asleep! Getting them tired and making them go to bed late is paying off, I can work in the morning without getting 100 calls :-)
I know, I'm evil.
Today's chores:
- Dishwasher: Florencia
- Pick up loose shoes at the front door: Juan
- Clean up kitchen: Carolina
- Clean up dining room: Juan
- Pick up mail: Santi
- Take out garbage: Juan
- Take out recycling: Carolina
- Set up table: Santi
- Make breakfast: Juan (yeah, right, it's noon and he's still sleeping!)
What horrible pictures I took!
Es más, son las 11:55 AM para I got up and came to work before 8:00 AM and nobody was awake yet, as I expected. In fact, it's 11:55 AM mientras escribo esto y Juan y Carolina todavía dormían!
