Going out with my friend

I've been in Toronto working at a hospital since last Friday. Originally, I was going to be here only for the weekend, but it's Tuesday evening and I am still here. Let's just say that things haven't worked out great so far.

Santi had a game in Brampton on Saturday, so with me here in Toronto it was up to Gaby to drive him there. It was going to be complicated, as Flor is still recovering (amazingly, by the way) from her surgery, so I asked Santi's coach if he could give him a ride, to which he replied that he had no problems.

I went to Brampton to watch him play (they lost 2-3) and then brought him with me. He stayed in the hotel with me on Saturday, and we hit the streets big time!

After an hour of relax at the swimming pool, we went out to Genesis for dinner. Genesis is a buffet restaurant that specializes in Argentine food (although there was very little of it). We finished eating at around 10 PM, and then we went to the downtown. I took Santi to Hard Rock Cafe and we had a coffee there (he looked impressed that we were doing such a 'grown-up' thing). We drove around and arrived back to the hotel at 1AM.

I had to take Santi back home early on Sunday afternoon, so he was a little disappointed; but we had a great night together, the first in which I felt I could go out with my son as if we were friends.

He estado en Toronto, trabajando en un hospital desde el viernes pasado. Originalmente, sólo iba a estar aquí por el fin de semana, pero es martes a la tardecita y aquí estoy. Digamos que las cosas no están marchando muy bien.

Santi tenía partido en Brampton el sábado, y conmigo aquí en Toronto, era tarea de Gaby el llevarlo allí. Iba a ser complicado, porque Flor todavía se está recuperando (sorprendentemente, de paso sea dicho) de su cirugía, así que le pedí al coach de Santi si lo podía llevar, a lo que respondió que no tenía problemas.

Fui a Brampton a verlo jugar (perdieron 2-3) y luego lo traje conmigo. Se quedó en el hotel conmigo el sábado, y reventamos la noche en forma!

Después de una hora de relax en la piscina, salimos a cenar a Genesis. Este es un restaurante tipo buffet que se especializa en comida argentina (aunque había poco y nada). Terminamos de comer a las 10PM, y luego fuimos al centro. Llevé a Santi al Hard Rock Cafe y tomamos un café allí (él parecía impresionado de que estuviésemos haciendo algo tan 'adulto'). Anduvimos dando vueltas por ahí y volvimos al hotel a la 1AM.

Tuve que llevar a Santi de nuevo a casa el domingo por la tarde, así que estaba un poco desilusionado; pero pasamos una gran noche juntos, la primera en la que sentí que salía con mi hijo como si fuésemos dos amigos.
